Cherokee County Fire Chiefs Association will be conducting a boot drive on Friday, Nov. 27, at major intersections around Cherokee County.

The association is raising funds for its fire safety programs and the operation and maintenance of its fire safety trailer, which is used to teach area school children about escaping from a burning home or what to do during severe weather emergencies.

Buffalo Volunteer Fire Department Chief Josh Parker, president of the association, recently reported that the association’s educational programs had been presented to 4,245 children in Cherokee County between September 21 and Nov. 11.
