POLICE REPORTS
A pistol and bullets were reported stolen following a burglary on Bear Creek Road in Blacksburg.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone pushed out a window air conditioning unit to gain entry to a home in the 200 block between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Nov. 14.
Missing were a Colt .32- caliber pistol and a box of .32-caliber bullets valued at a combined $500.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office reported a strongarm robbery that occurred Nov. 13 on a Blacksburg area roadway.
According to a police report, a 40-year-old Blacksburg man was walking near Martin Hills Road and Henry Road at about 5 p.m. when an unknown female called him off the roadway. An unknown man then approached and put a knife to the victim’s throat and took his wallet.
A pit bull was reported stolen from a Sarratt Street property.
According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone took a six-month-old pit bull from a property in the 400 block between 5 p.m. Nov. 18 and noon Nov. 19.
The dog is light brown with white patches on its chest and back.
The dog, which weighs 10 to 15 pounds, was wearing a dark blue collar.
A local woman reported the apparent theft of her identity by someone who racked up hospital bills and bought a car.
According to the Gaffney Police Department, the local woman and her husband were planning to buy a home and checked her credit report with the Equifax credit bureau in advance. The credit report showed eight different items the woman didn’t know about, including a $9,864 car loan and seven charges from a hospital in Easley.
Altogether, someone used the woman’s name and Social Security number to rack up $12,918 in charges.
A U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development-owned home on Shady Grove Road sustained about $1,500 in malicious damage recently.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone sawed off piping and wires to a heat pump outside a home in the 400 block and also turned the unit on its side, causing extensive damage.
