POLICE REPORT
A handgun was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on Peachtree Street.
According to the Gaffney Police Department, a resident of the 200 block had gone out Nov. 19 to start his vehicle. While waiting in his home for the vehicle to warm up, someone allegedly took a .380 caliber handgun valued at $500 from the vehicle.
A set of tires valued at more than $600 was reported stolen from a North Granard Street business.
According to the Gaffney Police Department, Earl’s Tires & Speed had put eight tires on the sidewalk and someone stole four of them Nov. 20 between 9:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. The tires were size 255/65-18.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the break-in of a Cherokee Avenue restaurant.
According to a police report, an officer was dispatched regarding an alarm call to a restaurant in the 900 block at about 4:30 a.m. Nov. 23 and discovered the back door open and a vent over the door pulled away from the building.
Police said they cleared the building to make sure no one was inside and noticed that someone had broken into two video game machines. The money boxes from the video game machines were pulled out and emptied. There was no immediate estimate on the theft and damage losses.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office reported an attempted break-in on Wendy Drive, Blacksburg.
According to a police report, someone tried to enter a residence in the 200 block between 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Nov. 19 but was unsuccessful.
There was no mention in the report of any damage.
A vehicle parked on North Petty Street sustained an estimated $1,000 in damage Nov. 22.
According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone caused damage to a 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe parked in the 300 block between 12:01 a.m. and 1 a.m.
Police did not say what type of damage the vehicle sustained.
A handgun was reported stolen following a Nov. 24 burglary on Walnut Street.
According to the Gaffney Police Department, a homeowner in the 400 block discovered at about 8:30 p.m. that someone had forced open the rear door to the home.
Police said the burglar( s) went through and scattered belongings in the home. The only items reported missing were a .22-caliber nickel-plated handgun with pearl grips and about $10 in cash.
A deer stand was stolen from the bed of a pickup truck parked outside a West Floyd Baker Boulevard business Nov. 24.
According to the Gaffney Police Department, two unknown white males in an older model Ford truck took a deer stand valued at $200 from the bed of a truck parked in a lot in the 1600 block between 1:30 p.m. and 2:47 p.m.
The deer stand was a “climbing model” and was camouflage in color.
The Gaffney Police Department reported that someone cut the locks off 10 storage units at a West Floyd Baker Boulevard storage locker business.
According to a police report, the locks were found missing Nov. 24 at the business in the 1100 block.
Nothing appeared missing from the storage units and new locks were placed on the units.
Lock damage was estimated at $100.
