Thieves target goods outside Lowe’s
The Gaffney Police Department reported two recent incidents during which thieves targeted merchandise displayed outside a local home improvement store.
According to one police report, two unknown men driving a green over tan Ford pickup truck were seen outside the Lowe's Home Improvement store on West Floyd Baker Boulevard early on Nov. 22. At first, police said, the men destroyed locks to remove two commercial four-burner gas grills chained outside the store and then proceeded to cut the locks and cables on a 5-foot by 10- foot Highway trailer.
Police said the same subjects apparently returned two hours later and took another 5-foot by 10-foot trailer and then cut additional locks and cables so they could take a Husqvarna lawn mower with a 48- inch cutting deck. Altogether, police said the thieves took $4,585 in merchandise.
On Nov. 18 at about 11:38 p.m., according to a second police report, a thief or thieves stole a commercial Char Broil grill from the front of the store. That grill is valued at $336.
