Deacon Charles Hollis Jr., 69, of 819 W. Fairview Ave., husband of Ollie Mae Logan Hollis, passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at 2:01 p.m. at Upstate Carolina Medical Center, Gaffney.

Son of the late Charles Hollis Sr. and the late Leatha Dawkins Hollis, he was a native of Cherokee County. Deacon Hollis was a member of Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, Pastor’s Aide member and former Sunday School teacher.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Robin Hollis of Wellford and Kim Hollis of Gaffney; and other relatives.

Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 28, at 1 p.m. at Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. C. A. Wallace, Dr. J.W. Sanders Sr., the Rev. Willie Mayes and the Rev. Ramon Gibbs officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at noon.
