MOORESBORO, N.C. – Dennis Lynn Spake, 57, of 2749 McCraw Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 27, 2009.

A native of Cleveland County, N.C., he was the husband of Debbie Harris Spake and son of Estelene Henderson Spake of the home and the late Vernon E. Spake. He was retired from Duke Energy after 35 years of service and was a member of Light House Baptist Church.

Mr. Spake is survived by a son, Preston Spake of the home; a daughter, Dayna Spake Ellis, and her children Karli and Drew Ellis of Gaffney; and two step-children, Bryan and Nikki Humphries of Gaffney.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Lannis Eugene Spake.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 1, at 2 p.m. at Cleveland Memorial Park with the Rev. Ernie Cole officiating. The body will remain at Eggers Funeral Home in Chesnee until the hour of service. The family will receive friends at the home at any time.
