VICTOR GREEN
Victor Levon “Ned” Green, 49, of Apt. 21-B Fairfield Apartments, 100 Fairfield Drive, died Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, in Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.
Son of Lois Peak of the home and the late Arthur Huskey, he was born May 27, 1960, in Cherokee County. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a 1979 graduatee of Gaffney High School. He retired from the City of Gaffney after 20 years of employment.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by three uncles, Allen Dowdle, Edward Dowdle and Odell Mickles Sr.; two aunts, Annie Mickles and Julia Dowdle; a step-sister, Bertha Dowdle; and his step-father, Mack Peak.
Also surviving are two sisters, his twin, Vickie Leeper, of Gastonia, N.C., and Jennifer Rainey of Gaffney; five stepsisters, Brenda Green, Dorothy Dukes, Frances Mickles, all of Gaffney, Arnita Singleton of Clinton, Md., and Annie Mack of Blacksburg; five stepbrothers, Odell Mickle Jr. and James Mickles, both of Gaffney, Dennis Dowdle of Blacksburg, James Dowdle of Thomasville, N.C., and Larry Dowdle of Pittsburgh, Pa., and other relatives.
Services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 1, at 2 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. J.W. Sanders Sr. and the Rev. Clarence Roberts officiating. Intement will be in Oakland Cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.
