Lady Saints fall to Brevard

The Lady Saints basketball team lost to Brevard College 73- 69 in overtime on Saturday afternoon at the Boshamer Gymnasium.

Limestone falls to 2-2 overall as the Tornadoes improve to 2- 3.

Whitney Todd led Limestone with 13 points. She also posted 7 rebounds. Stephanie Hayes had a team-high 9 rebounds to go along with 12 points. Ashley Robinson also reached doublescoring figures with 10 points. She also had two blocks. Lauren Pace led Limestone with five assists.

The Lady Saints had a 15- point lead after the first period (41-26), but the Tornadoes went on to outscore Limestone 32-17 in the second period to send the game into overtime.

Limestone was 23-67 in fieldgoal attempts (34.3%) and 15-26 in free-throws (57.7%). Brevard shot 37.9% (22-58) and were 24 of 32 in free-throw attempts (75.0%).

Limestone travels to Tigerville, to play North Greenville University on Dec. 1, at 5:30 p.m.

Saint grapplers top Seton Hill

The Limestone College wrestling team defeated Seton Hill 27-11 on Friday afternoon.

The Saints improve to 3-0 this season with today's win.

Limestone won seven of the matches to secure the victory. The Saints' Mike Magaha defeated Josh Testa 7-5 at 133 lbs. Jeremy Parker picked up an 11-2 major decision over Dallas Evans at 141 lbs. and Theran Goodale pinned Buck Watkins at 149 pounds.

Mikel Bush got another victory for the Saints in the 157-pound weight class with a 16-1 technical fall against Randall Wagner. Bryce Sopko edged Logan Dowes 4-2 for the win at 165 lbs. Tarek Alaruri defeated Greg Vanucci in the heavyweight class, 7-3.

The Saints head to Ada, Ohio, for the Ohio Northern University Tournament which is slated to start at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5.

Bowden to meet with school officials

Although he wants to coach another year, Florida State's Bobby Bowden isn't sure he will.

While Florida coach Urban Meyer begins preparation for Saturday's SEC showdown against Alabama in a matchup of unbeaten teams that will produce a finalists for the national championship, Bowden spent Sunday trying to decide if he'll be back for a 35th season at Florida State.

After a 37-10 whipping by the Gators on Saturday, Bowden said he needed do to some soulsearching about his future. The Seminoles have lost their last three games to Florida by scores of 45-12, 45-15 and 37-10.

The 80-year-old Bowden is now 17-18-1 against Florida, having lost the last six meetings.

ND hasn't talked to coaches yet

Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick said he has not contacted any coaches about a potential vacancy if Charlie Weis is fired after the season.

“We haven't talked to anybody,” Swarbrick said before the Fighting Irish played their regular season finale at Stanford on Saturday night.
