Elizabeth Barnhill
Elizabeth “Lib” Barnhill, 79, widow of John C. Barnhill Jr., died Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, at NHC of Mauldin.
Born in Gaffney, she was the daughter of the late Charles C. and Mary Etta Cousins Phillips. Mrs. Barnhill was a retired bank teller and a member of Lee Road Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Letitia “Tisha” Cleveland and husband, Brad, of Buford, Ga., and Beth Robinson and husband, David M., of Greenville; a son, John C. Barnhill III and wife, Patti, of Edwardsville, Ill.; a sister, Carolyn Lemmons of Gaffney; a brother, James C. Phillips of York; seven grandchildren, Laura Gurley and husband, Scott, Christopher and Phillip Barnhill, Thomas and Andrew Cleveland, Zack and Jacob Robinson; and one great-granddaughter, Anna Grace Gurley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Upstate S.C. Chapter, 301 University Ridge, Suite 5000, Greenville, SC 29601; or Lee Road Baptist Church, 1503 E. Lee Road, Taylors, SC 29687.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 3, from 12:30-1:45 p.m. at Lee Road Baptist Church, with the funeral following at 2 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens in Gaffney.
The family will be at the home of her daughter, Beth Robinson, 110 Wolf Creek Court, Greenville.
