Juanita and Vernon Parris Vernon and Juanita Parris of Gaffney celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 25, 2009.

Mr. and Mrs. Parris were married in York in 1959. Their children are Chris Parris and wife, Darla, of Murrells Inlet and Shane Parris and wife, Heather, of Gaffney. They have five grandchildren.

The couple was honored with a reception on Sunday, Sept. 6, at East Gaffney Baptist Church. Hosts were their children and grandchildren.

The event was catered by Liz Price and Edna Howard and the reception area was decorated by Barbara Peterson. Kristin Parris, Jackson Parris and Dawson Parris greeted guests and attended the register. Jonathan and Niki Parris served the anniversary cake, Shane Parris and Chris Parris served punch, and Heather Parris and Darla Parris served other refreshments. Greetings were extended by Betty and Carl Grant.
