Barbara Oxford

Barbara Jean Coleman Oxford, 75, of Goucher Green Bethel Road, passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 2, 2009, at her residence with her family by her side.

Born in 1934 in Gaffney, she was the widow of William Harold Oxford and daughter of the late Gary John Evans Coleman and the late Connie Lee Cox Coleman. Mrs. Coleman was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are a daughter, Becky Hurt and husband, Robert, of Gaffney; two sons, Mike Oxford of the home and Dean Oxford and wife, Bridgett, of Converse; a daughter-in-law, Penny Oxford of Pacolet; eight grandchildren, Beth Upchurch, Booper Oxford, Stevie Oxford, Michelle Sprouse, Barbie Bright, Chad Oxford, Josh Oxford and Travis Oxford; 11 great-grandchildren, Bryson, Katelynn, and Hunter Carter, Shelby, Hanna and Natalie Oxford, Kaidyance Sprouse, Kensley and Aubrey Oxford, and Emma and Annabelle Oxford; and a special niece, Lynn Suttles.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Oxford was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Oxford; two sons, Timmy and Dobbie Oxford; two sisters, Shirley Suttles and Betty Mc- Craw; and a brother, J. Harold Coleman.

Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 4, from 7-9 p.m. at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home at Frederick Memorial Gardens.

Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 5, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Shuford- Hatcher Funeral Home at Frederick Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Fred Quidley and the Rev. Charlie Glover officiating. Interment will follow in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

The family is at the residence.
