Odell Dawkins, 85, of 599 Dexter Ave., Columbus, Ohio, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at his home.

Widower of Elizabeth Smith Dawkins, he was born in Gaffney, a son of

the late

Leonard and

Lillie Smith. He was a veteran of World War II.

Surviving are three sons, Stanley Dawkins, Bernard Dawkins and Byron Dawkins, and two daughters, Patricia Dawkins and Geraldine Dawkins, all of Ohio. Local survivors include a sister-in-law, Dorothy Oglesby of Cowpens and Eugene Smith of Gaffney.

Services will be held Monday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m. at Diehl-Whitaker Funeral Home in Columbus, Ohio.
