Sheena, Kevin and Kaylee Brooke Spencer The H&R Block offices in Gaffney congratulate Sheena and Kevin Spencer, the proud parents of Kaylee Brooke, who was delivered at Upstate Carolina Medical Center and was the hospital’s last baby born in 2009. The parents received a tote bag full of baby items, including diapers, bib, onesie, changing pad, and more, from H&R Block as a gift to celebrate this special baby’s birth.

Babies born on Dec. 31 provide parents with a $3,650 tax exemption for all of 2009. To get that same tax break, parents of babies born after midnight on Jan. 1 will have to wait until they file their 2010 taxes – in 2011. Parents may also qualify for additional tax credits and deductions such as the Child Tax Credit, the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Care Credit.
