IRMO – Funeral services for David L. Hughes, 75, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo. Burial will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens, Gaffney, at 3:45 p.m. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 13, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Hughes died Monday, Jan. 11, 2010. Born May, 14, 1934, in Johnsonville, he was a son of the late Hugh Price Hughes and Ida Powell Hughes. He retired from King Drug Company in Florence and J. B. White in Columbia as the shipping manager. He was a member of Union United Methodist Church.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, Mr. Hughes is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carolyn Russell McNeill Hughes; daughters, Debra Hughes Nellermoe (Dave) of Columbia, Brenda Hughes Elmore of Anderson and Kimberly Hughes Martin (Jeremie) of Gaffney; grandchildren, Emily Nellermoe and Sarah Nellermoe;

and a sister, Wilba Hughes Tindall of Orangeburg.
