Helen Doris Wyatt Addis Young, 81, of 115 Henderson St., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at her residence.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of Elbert Addis and the late Jack Young and daughter of the late Grover Wyatt and Lucille Blanton Wyatt. Mrs. Young retired from the textile industry and was also a retired convenience store clerk. She was a member of High Point Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Nancy A. Powell Broome of the home; a brother, John David Wyatt of Gaffney; two great-grandchildren, Savannah Broome and Dakota Huskey; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, J.D. Wyatt and Julian Wyatt, and a sister, Bobbie Jean Henry.

Services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 2 p.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Powell officiating. Interment will be in High Point Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Jan. 12, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.
