Saint wrestlers win 2 at Duals
The Saints wrestling team picked up two wins and a loss at the Lakota Duals over the weekend.
Limestone defeated the University of Indianapolis 22-10 and Mount Saint Joseph 25-11, but lost to Ashland University, 30- 18.
Four Saints scored individual wins against Ashland. Matt Hall won by forfeit at 125 lbs., while Mike Magaha pinned his opponent at 133 lbs.
Casey Bradley got a 6-5 decision in the 174-pound weight class, while Michael Walsh defeated his opponent 9-3 in the 197-pound division.
Magaha, Bradley, Walsh, Jeremy Parker and Bryce Sopko also picked up wins against the University of Indianapolis and Mount Saints Joseph.
Matt Hall, Landon Hall and Tarek Alaruri recorded wins against the University of Indianapolis.
Charges dropped against coach
Assault charges against former Clemson soccer coach Trevor Adair for an incident with his daughters have been dismissed.
Instead, Adair's attorney Ryan Beasley said Tuesday the coach will pay a $1,092 fine to the city of Clemson for violating a noise ordinance in the April incident.
Adair was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and battery after police accused him of attacking his two teenage daughters. He stepped down as coach of the Tiger men in June.
Beasley said in an e-mail he thought this was a fair resolution to the charges.Clemson hired Brown coach Mike Noonan earlier this month to be men's soccer coach.
Gaffney jayvees top York
Snoop Byers scored 19 points and Ron Best added 18 to lead the Gaffney junior varsity basketball team to a 49-36 victory over York on Monday.
Gaffney improves to 6-5 with the win.
Gaffney freshmen 1-0 in region
O'Bryant Davidson had 16 points and Thomas Hardy chipped in 10 to help the Gaffney ninth-grade basketball team to a 54-42 victory over York on Monday.
Gaffney improves to 1-0 in region play.
