Fund raiser

 A hot dog and bake sale for Zach, Alan and Karen Morris will be held Saturday, Feb. 6, from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church, 1508 Cherokee Ave. Eat in or take out. Cost is $6 for a plate with two hot dogs. Zach, 15, has been in PICU at Palmetto Health Children's Hospital in Columbia since Jan. 24. All proceeds will go to help pay medical bills. Tickets for a drawing for a Mossberg Model 500 .410 pump action shotgun can be purchased at the fund raiser for $5.

Church events

 Due to inclement weather on Jan. 31, Mike Cash will perform at Bethany Baptist Church, 215 Wilkinsville Hwy., on Sunday, Feb. 7, at 11 a.m. A community-wide fellowship will be held at 6 p.m. Vegetable soup, potato soup and chicken stew with cornbread, crackers, pickles and desserts will be served. Everyone welcome.

 Circle of Grace Lutheran Chapel has joined hands with Lutherans across America to donate more than $2.7 million to disaster relief in Haiti. One percent of that total has been given by the South Carolina Synod of the ELCA. One Lutheran seminarian, Ben Larson, was buried this week. Ben's body was recovered Jan. 28 from the collapsed St. Joseph Home for Boys, Port-au- Prince, by a local work crew that went inside the rubble to find him. The Jan. 12 earthquake left more than 112,000 people dead, 197,000 injured and at least one million people homeless, according to the Haitian government. Circle of Grace welcome all worshippers at its 9:30 a.m. worship service held in the Limestone College chapel.

 Blue Branch Baptist Church, 1703 Pacolet Hwy. will host a concert by Naomi and the Segos on Sunday, Feb. 7, at 11 a.m. The group will perform Saturday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m. at Rock Falls Church, 8349 Valley Falls Road in Spartanburg.

Meetings

 Tuesday Woman's Club will meet Feb. 9 at 4 p.m. in the Carroll Fine Arts Building at Limestone College. Cohostesses are Pam Peeler, Michelle Moss and Gena Poovey.

 The Friends of Sardis Church Cemetery Inc. has rescheduled its bi-annual meeting to Sunday, Feb. 7, at 3 p.m. in the Sardis recreation building.

 The Republican Woman's Club will meet Feb. 8 at 11:45 a.m. in Stephenson Dining Hall at Limestone College. Guest speaker will be Congressman Gresham Barrett, a candidate for governor. A business session will be held after the program.
