Amy Margaret Sentell Gordon, 79, of Colonial Avenue, passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at Mary Black Hospital in Spartanburg.

She was born in Statesville, N.C., to the late Cleveland Garfield and the late Amy Sentell and was married to the late Olin Dean Gordon.

Mrs. Gordon was a member of West End Baptist Church. A graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Nursing, she was a registered nurse until her retirement.

Surviving are three daughters, Elaine G. Bare of Kannapolis, N.C., Linda C. Carroll and Nancy Spencer, both of Blacksburg; eight grandchildren; and 15 greatgrandchildren.

Her daughter, Sherry McAbee, and her son, Ronald Wayne Phillips, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held Monday, Feb. 8, at 2:30 p.m. at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home at Frederick Memorial Gardens. Services will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel with Robert Foster officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
