W.A. Crocker

William (W.A.) Addison Crocker, 79, of 196 Goucher School Road, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at his residence.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Patricia Brown Crocker and son of the late Benjamin Frank Crocker and Mary Bell Parker Crocker. He was a graduate of Cowpens High School and was retired from Cherokee Finishing after 40 years of service.

Mr. Crocker was a

United States

Army veteran,

having served in the Korean War. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Cowpens, where he was a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent.

In addition to his wife, surviving are a son, Clint Crocker and wife, Julie, of Gaffney; a daughter, Lisa Crocker Turner and husband, Mack, of Charlotte; and three grandchildren, Adrienne Turner, William Turner and Jordan Crocker.

Mr. Crocker was preceded in death by a grandson, Noah Crocker.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to special caregivers, Karen Isler, Suelene Nelson, Amy McAbee and Maurice Boggs.

The family will receive friends Monday, Feb. 8, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.

Services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 3 p.m. at Central Baptist Church in Cowpens with the Rev. Carroll Calvert, the Rev. Robert Ivey and Dr. Terry Duvall officiating. Interment will be in White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery.
