Lady Saints upset No. 2 Pfeiffer; improve to 10-5 in conference play

The Limestone College women’s basketball team defeated Pfeiffer University 67-62 on Saturday night in an important Conference Carolinas contest.
The Falcons, who entered tonight’s game at No. 2 in the league standings, fall to 11-4 in the conference (11-9 overall) while the Saints climb to 10-5 in the league (12-8 overall).
Limestone’s scoring leader was Lauren Pace with 17 points on 15-18 shooting from the free throw line. She also had 3 assists and 2 steals.
Tia Williams scored 13 points while Maria Young scored 12. Brittany Miller led the team with 6 rebounds. Williams had a team-high 4 steals.
The Falcons had a 1-point lead at halftime, 39-38.
Limestone came out strong in the second half, and led 58-45 with 8:29 left in the game. Pace nailed two free throws with only 4 seconds remaining to put LC up 67-62.
The Saints shot 37.5 percent from the field. Each team had 40 rebounds.
