Fortunately for the Lady Indians, the judges weren’t giving out any style points in their 46-40 workmanlike victory at Fort Mill on Friday.

Kierra Phillips had 10 points and Logan Davis added 9 as the Gaffney Lady Indians finally opened up a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter.

“Our defense turned them over and created some offense,” Gaffney coach Stacey Parris said.

Davis hit a 3-pointer to put the Lady Indians up by a point at the close of the third quarter.

Ashlee Tate had nine rebounds for the Lady Indians, who can clinch the region championship with victories this week against York, Clover and Northwestern in the regular season finale on Friday.
