The Cherokee County Fire Chiefs Association Safety Team is gearing up for the possibility of severe spring and summer weather and will be presenting educational classes at several area schools this month.

The safety team will be bringing its mobile classroom to the Heritage Christian School on March 17, and The Village School in Gaffney on March 23.

The Safety Team, comprised of volunteers from across Cherokee County, is also available for safety classes at area churches and civic groups.

Safety Team member Eddie Bishop of the Blacksburg Fire Department said upcoming severe weather safety classes will also include talks about earthquakes.

The safety team took its mobile classroom to Blacksburg Primary School on March 8 and Blacksburg Elementary School on March 9.
