Bobby Joe Cooper

Bobby Joe Cooper, 75, of 1214 Overbrook Drive, Apt. 6B, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at his residence.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of the late Margaret Messer Cooper and son of the late James L. Cooper and Myrtle Henson Cooper. He was the owner of Cooper Wrecker Service and Sand Pit, a member of the National Guard and of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are a son, Randy Joe Cooper and wife, Debbie, of Blacksburg; two daughters, Barbara Ann Watts of Blacksburg and Jacquelyn Cooper of Gaffney; two brothers, Jackie Cooper and wife, Brenda, and Marshall Cooper, all of Blacksburg; nine grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Zeke Cooper, and a sister, Betty Cooper Bailey.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 11, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday, March 12, at 11 a.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Leon Brown and Lucky Earls officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
