Dorothy Neal

BLACKSBURG – Dorothy Hull Neal, 75, 374 John's Cross Road, died March 9, 2010, at home.

A native of Cherokee County, she was the widow of George Edward Neal and daughter of the late Campbell Darvin and Alma Duncan Hull. She was retired from Minette Mills and was of the Baptist faith. She loved her family and enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by a son, Eddie Neal of Blacksburg; two daughters, Kay Calderon of Blacksburg and Sara Mengelkoch of New Germany, Minn.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jean Martin of Blacksburg.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Neal was preceded in death by a son, William "Bill" Foster, and a sister, Madge Beamish.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 12, from 2-3 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Mt. Paran Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3 p.m. Friday, graveside, in Mt. Paran Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Eric Sellars officiating.

Pallbearers will be Roger Diffenderfer, Timmy Pinson, Mark Norman, Josh Armstrong, Harland Weygandt and Tommy Martin.
