Rogers shoots 31 in GHS win
Phillip Rogers had a round to remember on Monday.
Rogers shot a 5-under 31, including six birdies, to lead the Gaffney golf team to an easy 141-158 victory over Clover at Cherokee National.
“It was just (Rogers) day,” Gaffney golf coach Todd Coggins said.
Junior Chevy Hartzog wasn’t bad either, shooting a 1-under 35, while Adam Goins had a even par round 36.
Hartzog’s round included an eagle on No. 9 and birdies on holes 3,6 and 7.
Trey Taylor and E.J. Blanton each shot 39 for the Indians, who will travel to Columbia for the Capitol City Classic on Thursday and Friday.
