Gospel concerts

 The 11th annual Blacksburg Community Gospel Singing is set for Sunday, March 14, at 6 p.m. at Blacksburg First Baptist Church. Featured will be Ivan Parker with special guests Brian Free and Assurance and Garry Jones.

 The Phillips Family will present a concert Sunday, March 14, at 10:30 a.m. at New Harvest Church of God.

Church news

 Cherokee Gospel Tabernacle on Fourth Street will have a fund raiser Saturday, March 13, beginning at noon. Fish and chicken plates will be served with slaw, hush puppies and fries and are $6 each. A yard sale starts at 7 a.m. All funds go to buy a box truck for the church's food bank. Call-in orders are welcome and will be delivered by calling 864-812-4155.

 The Ushers Board of Limestone Missionary Baptist Church will have its annual ushers program March 14 at 11 a.m.

 The public is invited to join Circle of Grace Lutheran Chapel as they worship during this fourth week of the Lenten season as the congregation focuses its attention on God’s welcoming love as expressed in the parable of the Prodigal Son. Next Tuesday, March 16, the congregation will be hosting Bishop Herman Yoos, Bishop of the South Carolina Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America for a special consultation. Circle of Grace worships each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. in the Limestone College Chapel at the corner of College Drive and Griffith Street.

 Rock Springs Baptist Church, 1184 Rock Springs Road, Blacksburg, will have a breakfast Saturday, March 13, beginning at 8 a.m. Pancakes, sausage, eggs, coffee, juice and milk will be sold. Donations accepted. For information call 864- 839-2496 or 704-487-7014.

 White Plains Baptist Church will have a fish fry/ hot dog fundraiser Saturday, March 20, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the VFW. Fish plates are $6 and hot dog plates are $5. Desserts and drinks can also be purchased.The Rev. James Patton Jr. is pastor.

 Corinth Baptist Church, 190 Corinth Road, will have a spaghetti supper fund raiser on Saturday, March 13, at 5 p.m. Plates are $6 per adult, $3 for children ages 4-12, and free for children under 3. All proceeds will go towards the church's mission trips to Nicaragua and Costa Rica.

 The monthly SHOC meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 17, at 12 p.m. For more information, call 864-839-9783.

 The Cherokee County Public Library Board of Directors will meet March 16 at 4 p.m.
