Charles Robert "Bob" Putnam

Bob Putnam, 63, of 115 Harvest Drive, Gaffney, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center

Born Aug. 17, 1946, in Charleston, he was the son of the late Charles Arthur and Alice Smith Putnam. He was employed by UPS and was a member of First Baptist Church North Spartanburg. He was a Teamsters member and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, having served on the USS Forrestal.

Survivors include his wife, Janie Ruth Marsh Putnam; two daughters, Julie Huskey and her husband, Steve, of Gaffney, and LuElla D'Amico and her husband, Scott, of Stillwater, Okla.; two grandchildren, Steven Chase Huskey and Natalie Grace Huskey; and three sisters, Mary Herring of Summerville, Gladys Ziegelheafer of Gaffney and Velma Compton of Huntington Beach, Calif.

Visitation was held Thursday, March 11, from 11-11:45 a.m. at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Services followed at noon in the chapel, conducted by the Rev. James Brown. Burial with military rites by the S.C. State Guard Honors Team was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Chase Huskey, Ray Rhinehart, Stephen Crocker, Mike Mahaffey, David Mahaffey and Brian Ziegelheafer.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1600 W. Floyd Baker Blvd., Gaffney, SC 29341.

The family is at the home of his daughter, Julie Huskey, 151 Farm Wind Road, Gaffney.
