Don’t forget the batteries
2010-03-17 / Local News
After Sunday’s marking of Daylight Savings Time, area fire officials are reminding Cherokee County residents of the importance of keeping smoke alarms in property working order.
“This is a good time to change your batteries in your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors,” said Goucher White Plains Fire Chief Jimmy Lamb. “You don’t want to wait until you have a dead battery before changing it. You may realize it too late.”
In addition to changing the batteries, smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors should be tested to make sure they’re operating properly.
