Ruby Gertrude Gossett Sherrill, 85, of 104 Gertrude St., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 15, 2010, at her residence.

Born in Gaffney, she was first married to the late Wayne Adams and then to the late Robert Sherrill. She was the daughter of the late James Gossett and Hattie Mae Pollard Gossett. Mrs. Sherrill was retired from the textile industry and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by two sons, Luther O’Neal Adams of Gaffney and James Edward Adams of Boiling Springs; a sister, Sara Biddix of Spartanburg; nine grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three daughters, Brenda Adams, Gloria Nance and Patricia Dobson; a brother, Clyde Gossett; and three sisters, Carrie Lee Corn, Carolyn Jolley and Jeannette Parnell.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 18, from 2:45-3:45 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. Graveside services will immediately follow at 4 p.m. in Oakland Cemetery with the Rev. L.B. Adams officiating.
