Raymond Alcide Marcoux, 70, of 102 Daniel Morgan School Road, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 15, 2010, at his residence.

Born in Thomasville, Conn., he was the husband of Shirley Wallace Marcoux and son of the late Prosper Marcoux and Exilda Lepine Marcoux.

He was retired from Goodyear, a U.S. Navy and Marine veteran, and a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Cora Stepp and husband, Randy, and Angela Mateo and husband, Rafael, all of Gaffney; a brother, Roger Marcoux and wife, Barbara, of Oregon; and five grandchildren, Brianna Stepp, Chase Quinn, Dylan Stepp, Gabriel Butler and Elijah Mateo.

He was preceded in death by a son, Mike Butler, and two brothers, Robert Marcoux and Francis Marcoux.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 17, from 3-4 p.m. at Fairview Baptist Church. Graveside services will immediately follow at 4 p.m. in the church cemetery with the Rev. Stuart A. Kersey officiating.
