Forest C. Moore Jr.
Forest Calvin (Acome) Moore Jr., 91, of Peachtree Centre, formerly of 408 Barclay Ave., passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at his residence.
Born in Gaffney, Mr. Moore was the husband of Julia Mae Watkins Moore of Gaffney and son of the late Forest Calvin Moore Sr. and the late Minnie Lee Medley Moore. He was a steel worker, a farmer and manager of Connecticut Village for several years. He was part of the CC Camp that went to Pearl Harbor. He had faith in Jesus Christ and was of Jewish descent.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Moore is survived by six daughters, Pattie Duncan, Joyce Gunnells, Theresa McKinney, Nima Campbell, Cindy Rogers, all of Gaffney, and Lisa Moore of Detroit, Mich.; a son, Keith Watkins of Gaffney; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Moore was preceded in death by a son, Michael Moore; a grandson, James C. Gunnells; two brothers, Charles Moore and Edward Decamp Moore; and four sisters, Pat Spires, Grace Moore, Nellie Morgan and Doris Moore.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 19, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Gordon Mortuary.
Services will be held Saturday, March 20, at 1 p.m. in Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Apostle Shane Harris officiating.
In lieu of flowers,the family requests that memorials be made to the Church of the Living God, 907 Pond Field Road, Gaffney SC 29340.
