Ina Daniel
Ina Daniel, 103, formerly of Skylyn Place, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Brookview Healthcare Center.
Born in Cowpens, she was the daughter of the late Robert Alfred Daniel and Mae Ellen Robbins Daniel. She was a graduate of Winthrop University, did post graduate work at Appalachian State University and taught in the North Carolina school system for 30 years. She retired in 1969 from Brevard College as a librarian. Mrs. Daniel was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Surviving are 16 nieces, Florence Byers, Dot Hyatt, Linda Meetze, Myrtle Lowe, all of Gaffney, Cornelia Scruggs of Boiling Springs, Nellie Freshour, Catherine Phillips, both of Greenville, Flossie Clark, Jeanette Allison, Julia Sutton, all of Pacolet, Sarah Frazier, Shirley Bunch, both of California, Martha Midgett of Virginia Beach, Etta Swofford, Yvonne Werle, both of Georgia, and Jeanelle Barrett of Camden; and three nephews, Richter Daniel, Joe Daniel, both of Gaffney and Dean Swofford of Camden.
Miss Daniel was preceded in death by four brothers, Oscar Daniel, Earlie Daniel, J. Odus Daniel and Odell Daniel; and three sisters, Olema Sellars, Tessie Daniel and Lois Swofford.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 8, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Daniel Meetze III officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately after the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cherokee Pregnancy Center, 111-B Tiffany Park Circle, Gaffney, SC 29341; or to a charity of ones choice.
