4-H summer camps offer youths fun activities
Runnin’ Wild 4-H Day Camp will be held Thursday, July 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Clemson Extension Office in Gaffney.
The camp is open to youths ages seven to 16. This camp is ideal for kids who love animals of all kinds. Hands-on activities and lessons will be provided by local beekeepers, a trapper and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. Participants will take a short trip to see some local “wild” life and have a picnic at Cowpens National Battlefield. Lunch will be provided. Pre-registration and payment of the $15 participation fee is required.
“No Pigs Allowed,” a 4-H Manners Day Camp will be held Thursday, Aug. 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Aegean Pizza on Floyd Baker Boulevard. The camp is open to youth ages seven to 16.
There is a time and a place for everything and the table is a good place to use your mealtime manners. Youths will learn to properly set a table, correctly serve guests, creatively fold napkins, introduce themselves, write a thank you note, and more. Lunch, with proper manners, will be provided. Pre-registration and payment of the $15 participation fee is required.
4-H2O Day Camp will be held Wednesday, Aug. 11, at Lake Cherokee from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The camp is open to youths ages seven to 16. If your child is a water lover, this camp is for him or her. Campers will learn about watersheds, water safety, fish, conservation, and even participate in some fun water activities. Lunch and a camp T-shirt are included. Pre-registration and payment of the $15 participation fee is required.
