Bertha Ray Upchurch Riddle, 91, of 118 Riddle Road, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 7, 2010, at her residence.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of Eugene Riddle and daughter of the late William Henry Upchurch and Emily Spencer Upchurch. Mrs. Riddle was retired from the textile industry and was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a special niece, nephew and caregivers, Cynthia and Bruce Spencer of the home; seven grandchildren, Justin Spencer, Dillon Spencer, Blake Spencer, Brandon Erwin, Haley Erwin, Katelynn Erwin and Brittany Erwin; and a greatgrandchild, Ashlynn Erwin.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Jean Riddle, six brothers and three sisters.

The body was placed in the home of Brenda Erwin, 646 McKowns Mountain Road, on Tuesday, June 8, and the family will receive friends anytime at her residence.

Services will be held Wednesday, June 9, at 4 p.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ashby L. Blakely officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
