Candidates for sheriff will debate

Richard Burgess and Steve Mueller, candidates for Cherokee County sheriff, will meet in a debate sponsored by the Cherokee County Republican Party.

The two will face off Thursday, June 17, from 7 until 8 p.m., answering questions posed by members of the print media, including The Gaffney Ledger and Spartanburg Herald-Journal. The debate will take place at the Broad River Electric Co- Op meeting room. It will be aired live and moderated by Fabian Fuentes of Gaffney Broadcasting.

Each candidate will be given two minutes to make an opening statement and each will field an equal number of questions from the panelists. Each candidate will be given two minutes and one minute each in response and rebuttal time, respectively, for each question. Both will have two minutes to give closing statements.
