Fox Carolina to broadcast here
City of Gaffney officials are hoping some bright and smiling faces will be willing to come out bright and early on June 24 to show some Gaffney pride.
On June 24, the Fox Carolina morning news show is scheduled to broadcast live from Downtown Gaffney from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., according to LeighAnn Turner, city clerk.
“We want Gaffney residents to come out and showcase their city,” Turner said.
As part of the festivities, Turner said the city has already lined up a number of local people and groups for interviews and segments during the Fox Carolina morning show, including some farmer’s market vendors and the Clemson Extension as well as dancers from the Southern Dance Academy, a live art demonstration from a member of the Cherokee Alliance of Visual Artists, a barbecue demonstration from barbecue competitor Bill Lambright, a Peach Festival representative, and the Gaffney High School Cheerleaders.
The broadcast is scheduled to take place on North Limestone Street in the immediate vicinity of City Hall and the Michael Gaffney cabin.
In addition to local residents, Turner said the city also is hoping for a good turnout from area day care centers and children’s camps.
