Gladys Viola Johnson Rising, 77, formerly of 205 Christopher Road, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Brookview Healthcare.

Born in Mullins, she was the widow of Ervin Rising and daughter of the late Clyde LeGrande Johnson Sr. and Viola Brown Johnson. Mrs. Rising was retired from textiles and was a member of Open Door Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sons, Larry Rising and wife, Laurie Johnson, of Kernersville, N.C., David Rising and wife, Karen, of Charlotte and Danny Rising and wife, Anita, of Gaffney; two daughters, Pat Spencer and Cindy Ann Peterson, both of Gaffney; 19 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Rising was preceded in death by a son, Perry Rising; a brother, Clyde LeGrande Johnson Jr.; and a sister, Connie Sarvis.

The family will receive friends Monday, June 14, from 10-11 a.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. Graveside services will immediately follow at 11 a.m. in Frederick Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Lewis Batchelor officiating.

The family will be at 205 Christopher Road.
