J.T. Allen, 87, of 482 Goucher Green Bethel Road, husband of Hazel Webster Allen, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2010, at 1:15 a.m. at his home.

Son of the late Rev. Van Allen and the late Bernice Shippy Logan, he was born July 28, 1922, in Cherokee County. He was a member of Green Bethel Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was retired from Lipscomb

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Bernice Allen Littlejohn of Gaffney, Kathy Allen Ridgeway of the home, Lillie Allen Tate (Thurman) of Gaffney and Reola Allen Hoyle of the home; two sons, J.B. Allen and Rev. Larry Allen (Celestine), all of Gaffney; four sisters, Daisy Logan, Mae Sue Gregory, Martha Love and Cleo Huskey, all of Gaffney; a brother, Herman Shippy (Angie) of Gaffney; 10 grandchildren, one of whom, Katrina Allen, was reared in the home; 22 great-grandchildren; four great-greatgrandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family is at the residence, 482 Goucher Green Bethel Road.
