“Road work zone” signs soon will be popping up in the county.

County officials have released the roads identified by Cherokee County Council members for paving this fiscal year.

Cherokee County Assistant Administrator Holland Belue said the county will have about $2 million in available funds for road improvement projects after July 1. Of that total, $600,000 will be spent on the current road paving contract.

J.D. Brown Landscaping was the low bidder for the contract. No roads in council members Rufus Foster (District 1) and Quay Little (District 3) appear on the paving list.
