Bobby Eugene Vinesett, 80, of Chester, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2010, at Lucy Corr Village.

A native of South Carolina, he was the son of the late Kyle D. and Zemrude Vinesett. He was retired from the United States Air Force, was a member of the VFW, and attended the Burkeville Air Force Annual Reunion.

He is survived by his wife of nine years, Shirley H. Vinesett; three daughters, Patti Owensby and husband, Jack, Amanda Felty and husband, Stewart, and Tracy Gilliam and husband, Jim; two sons, Bruce Vinesett and wife, Diane, and Fred Gardiner and family; a step-daughter, Cindy Korb; a stepson, Wilbur Jones and wife, Ellen; fourteen grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren; a brother, Jim Vinesett and wife, Pat; two sisters, Sue Childers and husband, Avon, and Pat Whelchel and husband, Bill.

He was preceded in death by two children, Freddie Vinesett and Bobby Vinesett Jr., and a grandson, Christopher Cabrera.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2010, in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, with Pastor Dan Lipford officiating.

Interment will follow at 3 p.m. in Hampton Memorial Gardens, 155 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, Virginia 23666.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
