Earl T. Mullinax
Earl Thomas Mullinax, 70, of 134 Phillips Lane, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Upstate Carolina Medical Center. Born in Cherokee County, he was the husband of Dianne Spencer Mullinax and the son of the late Melvin Mullinax and Irene Blackwell Mullinax. He was retired from Hoechst Celanese, was an avid motorcyclist, and was a member of the Harley Owners Club and Goldwing Club. Mr. Mullinax was a member of Abingdon Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Robert Mullinax of Gaffney, Kenneth Mullinax and wife, Jeri of Blacksburg and Michael Steagall and wife, Carolynn of Gaffney; a daughter, Becky Peterson and husband, Jeff of Gaffney; a brother, Carroll Mullinax and wife, Peggy of Gaffney; two sisters, Margaret Spencer and husband, Thomas and Faye Reynolds and husband, Ralph, all of Gaffney; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Hames and a brother, Billy Mullinax.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at Blakely Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2010, in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Sanders and Mr. Ashby L. Blakely officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cherokee Co. Childrens Home, P.O. Box 1896, Gaffney, SC 29342. The family will be at the residence.
