Munsterman propels Post 109 juniors to victory

Bryon Munsterman Bryon Munsterman Bryon Munsterman was too much for Rock Hill to overcome on Thursday.

Munterman struck out eight to lead the Post 109 juniors to a dominating 12-2 win over visiting Rock Hill.

Munsterman had one shaky inning when Rock Hill loaded the bases in the first inning with two outs. But the righty struck out the next batter to get out of the inning with only one run scored.

Munsterman also gave his team a boost at the plate with two hits. Bryce Spurlin, Grayson Goforth and Jake Arthur also had two hits.

After Rock Hill went up 1-0 in the first, Post 109 scored two runs in the bottom of the frame to take a lead it would never relinquish.

Post 109 extended its lead to 6-1 in the third inning before tacking on two more runs in the fourth and four more runs in the sixth.

Gaffney, which improves to 9-3, travels to York today. Post 109 concludes the regular season with a doubleheader showdown at first-place Lancaster on Thursday.
