Emmie Robertson Mayfield Wright, 93, formerly of 304 E. O’Neal St., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at Brookview Healthcare.

Born in Cherokee County, she was first married to the late Archie Mayfield and then to the late Manuel Wright. She was the daughter of the late Henry Bascomb Robertson and Mattie Jones Robertson. Mrs. Wright was retired from the textile industry and was a member of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Donald G. Mayfield and wife, Rue, of Gaffney; a daughter, Kay Perry and husband, Bud, of Marietta, Ga.; three grandchildren, Shelly Grant, Melissa Perry and Ryan Perry; four great-grandchildren, Mitchell Grant, Zachary Grant, Logan Perry and Camden Perry; and a step great-grandchild, Evan Humphries.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Perry; a brother, H.B. Robertson; and a sister, Louise Salem.

Graveside services will be Friday, July 2, at 11 a.m. in Frederick Memorial Gardens with Dr. Clyde Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service.
