LANDRUM – John B. Fowler, 89, of Landrum, passed away June 29, 2010.

Mr. Fowler was born Dec. 11, 1920, in Monroe N.C., to the late Nettie Horne Fowler and John B. Fowler. A 1940 graduate of Charlotte Technical High School, he served

with honor in

the United States

Army during World War II and was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Island, N.C.

Mr. Fowler is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Sarah Plummer Fowler; his children, Nancy Whitley (William), John Blair Fowler III (Rita) and James Marshall Fowler (Diane); eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 2-3 p.m. at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte. A graveside service will follow at Sharon Memorial Park.
