LIVE, LAUGH, L’ETOILE
THE L'ETOILE CLUB – 2009-2010
This year, the members have been very dedicated to their projects. They contributed Halloween candy bags and brushes to the Cherokee Children’s Home in October. At Christmas, they sent Christmas cards to injured soldiers and care bags to Peachtree Centre. In February, for Valentine’s Day, they sent stuffed animals to the children’s wing at Spartanburg Regional and Mary Black Hospital. They also sent care packages to soldiers in Iraq.
During the course of the year, they sent e-cards to children with terminal illnesses through Hugs and Hope organization.
The L’Etoile Club conducted several successful fundraisers this year to provide monetary donations to help support community organizations. They hosted a Halloween dance and a winter dance and sold cookbooks to raise funds to donate to the following organizations: Gaffney Armory (NGASE), $150; Macedonia Baptist Church, $50; First Baptist Church, $25; Gaffney High School ROTC, $50; Shriner’s Hospital, $200; St. Jude Hospital, $500; Cherokee Children’s Home, $200; Miracle Hill, $200; Meals on Wheels, $300; American Red Cross, $300 and Circle M, $100.
The club members also purchased a $250 brick from the YMCA and decided to purchase a $1,350 storage building in which to store the organization’s dance decorations.
