Geraldine (Gerry) Hayes, formerly of 1618 Bonner Road, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Peachtree Centre.

Born in Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Vance Roland Hayes and Bessie Martin Hayes. Miss Hayes was retired from textiles and was a member of New Pleasant Baptist Church. Surviving are two sisters, Millie Phillips and Blonnie Hines and husband, Coyt, all of Gaffney; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Miss Hayes was preceded in death by two brothers, Maynard Merrel Hayes and John Shaw (Buck) Hayes; and four sisters, Christine Hayes, Velma Ruth Hayes, Cornelia (Hun) Hayes Martin and Lou Hayes Fowler.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 5, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.

Services will be Tuesday, July 6, at 4 p.m. at New Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. George Holland and the Rev. Dewitt Clyde officiating. Interment will be in New Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
