In the regular-season finale on Thursday, Post 109 was swept by Lancaster in a doubleheader. In fact, Post 109 didn’t even scratch out a run in dropping the opener 3-0 and losing the second game, 6-0.

In the first game, the game was scoreless until the fourth inning when Lancaster scored all three of its runs. Post 109 mustered just three hits in the game. It was more of the nightcap as Post 109 stranded more and more baserunners.

“We just didn’t hit the ball,” Post 109 manager Aaron Epps said. “We just left a ton of baserunners on base and that was the story.”

Epps hopes the bats come around in time for Tuesday’s playoff opener at York. The teams split a pair of extra inning games before York beat Post 109 by double figures in the teams’ last matchup.

“It’s a tough matchup for us,” Epps said. “But we’ll be okay if we come out playing well defensively, pitching well and getting our bats going.”

Bryon Munsterman will get the start on Tuesday. Munsterman was the game two loser against Lancaster.

Gaffney ended the regular season with a 9-6 mark.
