A Coca-Cola truck crashed on Highway 18 early Monday afternoon, resulting in a ticket for the driver.

According to Cpl. Bryan McDougald of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at about 12:10 p.m., nine miles south of Gaffney. McDougald said the driver of the 2006 International tractor-trailer, Kevin Gary Michael, 27, of Lexington, N.C., traveled off the right side of the roadway, lost control, then crossed over to the left side of the roadway, where the truck struck trees and an embankment.

McDougald had no information on any injuries, but said the driver was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions.
