7-year-old Gaffney girl is New Talent winner
One of the biggest crowds ever was on hand for the South Carolina Peach Festival New Talent Night sponsored by the Blacksburg Rotary Club Thursday at Fullerton Auditorium at Limestone College.
Erika Noel Quinn, a 7- year-old from Gaffney, took home the $100 first place prize in the under 15 category. She clogged to the song “Toy Soldier.” Fourteen year old Taylor Spencer also from Gaffney captured the $50 second place prize clogging to the song “Kerosene.”
A group called Under One Wing sang the Temptations song “My Girl” to win first place and the $100 prize in the over 15 category. The group consists of Emanuel Houston, Derrick Hackle and Sean Hackle all from Simpsonville, SC.
Caroline Ruff from Pacolet, SC took home second place and the $50. She sang the song “American Honey.”
Proceeds from the event are used to support the Blacksburg Rotary Club’s scholarship program.
