Edwin Elmer Rees, 79, formerly of 905 8th St., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Peachtree Centre.

Born in Linn County, Kansas, he was the husband of Linda Wylie Rees and son of

the late William Rees and Mamie

Ralph Rees. He was

retired from the United States Air Force, having served in the Korean War, and was retired from Timken. Mr. Rees was a member of Temple Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon.

In addition to his wife, also surviving are a son, Edwin L. Rees and wife, Gina, of Boiling Springs; and two sisters, Irene Kinney of Greenville, Ky., and Margaret Shaw and husband, Les, of Pleasanton, Kansas.

Mr. Rees was preceded in death by a brother, John Rees; and two sisters, Mary Mullis and Ruth Kramer.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 19, from 6:30-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.

Services will be held Tuesday, July 20, at 3 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Kierstead officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
